Amazing views, serene and private location, clean and comfortable house. We loved the hot tub and spending time on the deck. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and grill a few meals. The host provided K-cups and Nespresso pods, as well as a few other options for making coffee if you bring your own grounds. The road for getting to the house is gravel and a bit steep in a couple of parts, but no big deal for most cars. Sandpoint is about a 20 minute drive and super cute, with some good shops and restaurants. The lake is awesome. Overall a beautiful location to relax and enjoy nature.

This is an amazing house. The view may be the best on the whole lake! The house easily fit the 8 of us, with room to roam and ample seating. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped, well laid out for several of us to work together at once, and great appliances. I enjoyed early morning hot tub soaking, and there is a firepit to sit around in the evening. The hosts are gracious, responsive, and helpful.

The River – Rock House of Metaline Falls, WA

You know when you visit an historic building or museum and think “I wonder what it would be like to live here” ?? Well now here is your opportunity. Wow, what a gem. This mansion is packed with all of the luxuries while also holding a rich history and situated in the historical small town of Metaline Falls. I felt like royalty staying here with my husband and toddler. The grand piano was one of our favorite parts. Needless to say, this place is spotless, stocked with everything you need for an overnight or much longer stay, and is just so incredibly special. The host was SO humbly accommodating throughout the booking process, as we were trying to decide if we would be able to come or not due to wildfire smoke. I am so impressed by their professionalism and compassion — a fantastic combination. I hope I get to return to this magnificent Airbnb. Really, it’s what dreams are made of! Book it!

I’ll start by saying the home was absolutely gorgeous. The art on the walls, the books on the shelves, even the stove was beautiful! Everything is so well thought out, and the result is a remarkably preserved historic home with modern touches for added comfort. We loved the information posted throughout the house with “random” facts.
The area was very peaceful, the scenery beautiful. The home is conveniently located, the “downtown” just a short walk away.
My highest regards go to the host - their hospitality was unmatched! Responsive, kind and friendly, I have nothing but positive feedback.
Would definitely recommend staying here, or at any other properties with this host.

Bask in the details of a historic home and artful renovation
Our stay at the Rock House was full of relaxation and taking in the beauty of the architecture, details, and exploring the area. Walking distance to so many nice stops in metaline falls, including the cutter theater. The theater building houses a library that was a great place to bring our children and learn more about the first owner of the home.

Great Getaway
The house is amazing and a perfect base to launch your outdoor adventures from. Terry and Lisa were great and the neighbors are all fun and super nice. Terry took us out on the pontoon and our boys tried their hand at fishing. No luck but they got to drive the boat! Rachel, next door neighbor, is a chef and caters meals to the home. We had an excellent dinner to cap off our week and our last night. We'll definitely be coming back.

Great Weekend Getaway
We absolutely loved the charm and history of the Rock House. Stunning architecture from 1910 with modern conveniences that didn’t take away from the natural beauty. They do a great job of leaving notes regarding some of the unique designs and pieces of historical significance. Beds were comfy, the toilet was pretty high-tech, and the kitchen made staying in to eat home cooked meals a breeze. We will definitely be coming back for another quick vacation soon.

Beautiful Historical Home
The home is beautiful, and historically preserved yet in a very modern style. The home has a homey and comfortable feeling. The beds, very comfortable and the linens were lovely, The location of the home was perfect. What a beautiful town and very quaint and welcoming. Awesome spot for a large ski group. So much space, comfortable, extremely easy 2 minute drive to the base lodge. Close enough for some of our group to walk. Pet friendly was a beyond great bonus. Well equipped kitchen, too. We loved it.

What a special place!! So close to the mountain, very easy to get in and out of, and absolutely perfect for a large group. Even with 10 people we all felt like there was plenty of space, and the house is well-stocked with anything you might need. Terry was a fantastic host, we'd love to come back!

We loved our stay at Sunspot. The condo is beautiful and very close to the ski resort. The kitchen is fully equipped and the layout of the living, dining kitchen area is perfect for a large group. We were especially pleased with the fact that every bedroom had it's own bathroom, giving every couple privacy. When one of our group got covid four days before we were supposed to leave for our trip, Terry worked with us to come up with new dates for our trip. Terry's communication skills before and during our stay were exceptional. We are already talking about our next trip to Sunspot!

This is a beautiful home in a great location! There are 5 full bedroom suites with sleeping lofts included in 4 of the bedrooms. Nicely updated kitchen and very well appointed for entertaining. Terry and the management team are very responsive - we had a great stay!

The best VRBO we've ever rented
If you have a large family or group of friends that want to stay at a mountain resort, put this at the top of your list. We have a group of 9 docs who ski together yearly. This home was perfect. It is almost new, cheerful, nicely decorated, and spacious. Excellent view, w lake view. Kitchen was well stocked for large groups. The mountain is excellent for skiing, all levels. Owners are gracious.

Annual friends and family trip
Sunspot Lodge was perfect for our annual ski and snowboard getaway. 4 families, 5 teens, a 10 year old and an infant - this place had everything we needed! Terry and Jeff were super responsive and helpful. Already planning next year’s trip and will absolutely consider Sunspot. It is not ski in/ski out, but it’s not far and several of us walked to and from the village.

Amazing spot for our group
Overall we had a great stay. The place had everything we needed (beds, towels, linens, kitchen supplies, etc). The hot tub and the bottom locker room were great amenities to have. We were able to walk to Schweitzer which was a plus. Bedrooms were great, just need to make sure people are able to get up the ladders if you have a big group. Lastly, the owners were great and very reliable and communicative. We’d go back!

Great large place!

Great Rental; Large, Comfortable
The property was great for our large group. Everyone was happy and very surprised at the level of detail this rental offers. Accommodates families with kids, there plenty of space for ski equipment, lots of living space in the bedrooms and the shared spaces. On the service route of the mountain shuttle, which was convenient, specially when dealing with a larger group. The host was easy to communicate with and was very helpful in providing information prior to the trip. I definitely will consider staying at this property when we return to Schweitzer!!

Review of Schweitzer Mountain Lodge
The house was spacious, comfortable, close to the resort parking and had a great view of the mountain. The kitchen was very well stocked. The check in/out process was very easy and my kids really liked the rooms named for different ski runs.

Great spot on a great mountain
Tons of room. Great kitchen. We were skiing early in the week so the shuttle was not running ( runs Th-Sun when we were there) , but it was a 2 min drive and there was plenty of parking available at the base. Terry ( property manager) was very easy to work with.

Amazing time with family
From the time of booking to the time of checking out Terry was an excellent communicator. When I had a question or needed help she responded within 24 hours. We had a small family reunion at this property and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. The house was immaculate and accommodated each one of our individual families comfortably. Each room is spacious and featured a mini bar and restroom - something particularly important what you have a packed house! We planned to have family meals at the table and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make that happen. The views were amazing and the Sweitzer Lodge area had lots of fun activities for everyone in my family ranging from 2-80 years of age. I’d definitely recommend choosing this home for your stay!! It’s amazing!!

Excellent, all around!
Our Schweitzer at the Sunspot far exceeded our expectations. The proximity to the hill, the views, the superbly stocked high end kitchen, the huge ski-room for our gear (we had lots!), and most importantly, the communication from the owners. We were a group of 13 adults, and we were more than comfortable in the space. We would re-book in a heartbeat!

Plenty of space for 4-5 families
We rented this amazing condo for my husband's 50th birthday ski weekend with 3 other families and it greatly exceeded our expectations! There is plenty of space in each suite for an entire family due to the individual bathrooms, kitchenettes, and loft spaces. Besides the suites, the main space downstairs comfortably fit all of us. The large kitchen is well equipped with so many small appliances, food storage, and all the cookware you need! Last, there is so much storage space downstairs for ski and winter gear that our large group had plenty of space for everything. The property manager was prompt and friendly when answering my questions, and the check-in and out process was clear and easy. I would highly recommend renting this condo if you're looking for a big shareable-but-private space for families!

Great for large group!
We really enjoyed our time at this property! We had a large group of 15 adults, all in our 30’s, stay here, and it fit everyone relatively comfortably. Plenty of space to hang out and eat in the main living area. If you are not comfortable climbing a ladder to get into the lofted beds, you probably won’t be able to fit as big of a group as us. Terry was very responsive and drove up to fix a minor issue with a tripped fuse in the kitchen our first day. The house was very clean and beds were comfortable! Kitchen had everything we needed, including espresso and a full spice rack! It is a short drive to the mountain (2 minutes) and even walkable. Great space for all of our ski gear downstairs! There was enough parking for 6 large cars! We would definitely stay again! Thank you for having us!

Wonderful for multiple families!
This was a great rental, it was so clean and spacious and the owner was so responsive. We fit 4 families very comfortably and really enjoyed the stay. It is about a half mile walk to the lodge but a very easy walk.
